“The City of Ontario assesses certain Development Impact Fees (DIF) upon new development projects to recover the costs to the City for the future construction of public infrastructure, facilities, and improvements necessitated by increased development. DIF are collected at Building Permit issuance to ensure the City collects sufficient monies to construct the additional infrastructure needed to accommodate the growth of new residents and businesses.”

Credits and offsets

“Developers shall submit a "DIF Credit Request" or "DIF Reimbursement Request" in order to receive DIF Credit or DIF Reimbursement, for the construction and completion of DIF Program infrastructure included in the City's DIF Nexus Report. When an improvement is complete, Developer shall submit a request to the City with all supporting documentation to DIF@ontarioca.gov .”
