“A capacity charge is a one-time charge that is collected from new customers or developers when they connect to an existing system or increase the demand on the system. Capacity charges help fund infrastructure needed to serve new development. They ensure that existing customers don't subsidize the cost of growth.”

“The updated capacity fees include both buy-in costs for recovery of the cost of prior construction of existing assets previously built and financed by CCWD and buy-up costs for future water and wastewater facility improvements that are necessary for expansion and to increase capacity to serve new future customers.”

“Activation of the service connection is obtained by paying the required fees, submitting applicable information about the lot, and having a Customer Service Representative fill out a Utility Service Request (USR) form. The signed USR form will initiate the installation of the water meter, inspections, and bi-monthly service charges. The current fees are included with this packet.”

“Residential customers who require a 1-inch meter to comply with state-mandated fire sprinkler system flow requirements will be charged the same capacity fees as customers with 5/8-inch meters. Customers requiring meters larger than 1-inch to meet state-mandated fire sprinkler system flow requirements must pay full capacity fees.”
